Greetings friends and fans–and thanks for taking the time to visit my website. It has been a while since I last communicated here and since I had news of a new mystery to tell you about…because I was writing a huge novel, my first non-mystery. It is a novel of historical fiction and, at almost 600 pages, it was a massive undertaking. It also was a labor of love. Writing it was exhausting but I loved every minute of the process, and I feel very strongly about the book. The publishing world, however, seems not to share my view: Four rejection notices so far. But, as my agent reminds me, that’s not my job to worry about; my job is to keep writing, and that’s what I’m doing. I have a short story in a collection called “Send My Love and a Molotov Cocktail.“ My story is titled Murder… Then and Now and it features private investigator Boxer Gordon, a character I’ve only written about in short stories…but that’s about to change as I’m working on the first Boxer Gordon novel!
I realize that I’ve neglected my other characters–I’ve heard from quite a few of you about that, wondering when you can expect a new Mimi/Gianna, a new Carole Ann, anew Phil. I’m working on outlines for new mysteries in those series and the good news is that we won’t have to wait for a publisher to decide to publish–I’ll be ebooking the new mysteries on SMASHWORDS.com. All of the Mimi Patterson/Gianna Maglione mysteries, both Phil Rodriquez mysteries, and the first Carole Ann Gibson mystery are available for download to your e-reader at Smashwords. You can find links here to SMASHWORDS.com, and to PM Press, the publisher of the Molotov Cocktail short story collection.
Please do keep in touch–I always appreciate hearing from you.
And I promise: More mysteries to come!
Penny, really enjoying reading your posts. Hope it’s feeling smooth, fun…. Best
I think I’m getting the hang of it. Enjoying it more.
